CWO ElliottCWO Elliott (Jeff) was born in Brantford, Ontario. His family growing up consisted of mom, dad four brothers and one sister. CWO Elliott came from a modest middle class family with both parents working to make ends meet. They lived in several different houses, all in the same area of the city. As the family grew so did the need for a bigger house. CWO Elliott attended Bellview Public School for grades K-5, Cedarland Public School for grades 6-8 and North Park Colligate High School for grades 9-12. He graduated with a grade 12 Ontario Secondary School Diploma in 1985. Growing up he was involved in rep hockey and high school football. His father was an avid outdoorsman and as a child he was always involved in fishing and hunting. CWO Elliott is still heavily involved in fishing, hunting and training hunting dogs for retrieving waterfowl.

CWO Elliott enrolled in the Canadian Forces Primary Reserves in November 1982 as a member of the 56 Field Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery Regiment located in Brantford, Ontario. After taking his basic recruit training he was hooked and became very interested in the military. During his first few years he completed all the available trade courses. After completing his Combat leadership Course he decided to join the Regular Force. He was enrolled in Nov 1986 as a direct entry into the 2nd Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery located in Petawawa, Ontario. It didn’t take long for him to fit in and within months he was a candidate on the basic parachute course in Edmonton. After completing the basic parachute course he became a member of E Bty (Para) 2nd Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. Soon after his basic parachutist course he became very interested in parachuting both military and civilian. In 1987 he completed the jumpmaster and military parachute instructor courses. In 1992 and 1993 he was a member of the Canadian Forces Parachute Team (The Skyhawks). To date CWO Elliott has taken all the trade courses available to non-commissioned artillerymen as well as all the leadership course qualifications up to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. At present he is employed at 56 Field Royal Canadian Artillery Regiment as the unit Operations Officer as well as the Regimental Sergeant Major.

CWO Elliott met his wife in high-school and they have been married for 18 years. They have two children, Justin, 18 and Kori, 14.
