Amos, Bliss F. Captain (Retired) - Peacefully at Lakeridge Health, Bowmanville, on July 10, 2004, Bliss Franklin Amos of Peterborough, Ontario in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Ruby Lillian (nee Ashton). Dear father of Robert Amos of Oshawa and Darlyne (Brigadier General (Retired) Robert Beaudry) of Brockville. Lovingly remembered by his sister Reta Stewart of Chipman, New Brunswick, and by his three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Bliss was commissioned in the Royal Canadian Artillery in 1930, and served in England during World War 2 and later in Korea and Japan. He was posted to Camp Shilo, Manitoba in 1955, serving as the Military Transport Officer until his retirement in 1961. He was a Funeral Director with the Comstock Funeral Home in Peterborough from 1965 to 1978.
Anderson, WF (Freeman) Major (Retired) - It is with deepest regret The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the death of Major W.F. (Freeman) Anderson who passed away quietly on or about March 28, 2008 at his home in Victoria, BC. He served with 119 Anti-Aircraft Battery, Royal Canadian Artillery in Gordon Head, and Work Point Barracks in the early 1950’s.
Arslanian, Vatche - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces that Mr. Vatche Arslanian passed away on 8 April 2003 at age of 48. A former Artillery Captain, Mr. Arslanian served in the militia with 2nd Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery and with the Regular Force from 1985 until 1994. He served the guns in the Royal Canadian Artillery School, 5e Régiment d’artillerie légère du Canada, and 2nd Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. He was killed while working for the International Red Cross in Baghdad.

Barnes, Sid Captain – It is with deepest regret the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Captain Sid Barnes on 1 June 2008 in Manitoba. He joined the Canadian Forces in September 1956 and spent 36 and one half years in the military. Heserved in Germany, New Brunswick and Winnipeg.
Bebee, Benson "Ben" Major – It is with deepest regret the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Major Benson "Ben" Bebee on 9 December 2008 in London, Ontario. He joined the Canadian Forces on 4 July 1957 as a "Boy Soldier" (Apprentice Training Battery, Shilo, Manitoba).
Benstead, Sidney Thomas Warrant Officer 2 - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Warrant Officer 2 Sidney Benstead on 19 December 1969. He served with 1st Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery as Battery Sergeant Major during World War II and retired from the Artillery in 1961

Bonnell, George Elmer, F.C.R.S., MD - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of George Bonnell on 26 July 07 at the age of 89 in Fredericton, NB. He served with the Royal Canadian Artillery during World War II in England, Italy, France, and the Netherlands, was awarded twice mentioned in Dispatches for bravery.

Boudreau, (Al) Aldrice Chief Warrant Officer (Retired) - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Chief Warrant Officer Aldrice (Al) Boudreau on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at the Oromocto Public hospital. Al served in the Royal Canadian Artillery until he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer in 1983 and was a member of the Royal Canadian Artillery Association.

Brown, Charles Edward "Charlie" Brown, MC, CD Colonel (Retired) - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment announces that Colonel (Retired) Charles Edward "Charlie" Brown, MC, CD passed away on 24 March 2005 in Brantford, ON. He was in his 90th year. He joined the 54th Battery in 1940 and served in Italy, France and Belgium. Following the war he remained active with the militia and commanded 56 Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery and served as the Southern Ontario District Commander. He also served as the Honorary Colonel of 56 Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery from 1983 to 1985.
Bruce, A. Dexter - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Dexter Bruce on 27 June 2006 in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. He served during the Korean War.
Bruce, Robert William - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Robert William Bruce on 06 November 2006 in Ottawa, ON. He served with the Royal Canadian Artillery during World War II.
Bryan, William Robert Sergeant - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment announces the passing Sergeant William Robert Bryan on July 17, 2004 in Halifax NS. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the 81st Field Artillery Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery. In his military career, he received the Korean Service Medal, Korean Volunteer Medal, Peacekeeping Medal, United Nations Korean Medal and the Canadian Decoration Service Medal. Bill was the fifth generation of Bryans to serve in the British and Canadian Artillery.

Buchanan, Norman B, MC, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) – It is with deepest regret the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Lieutenant Colonel Norman B. Buchanan, MC on 27 June 2008 in New Brunswick. Lieutenant Colonel Buchanan was awarded the Military Cross with two bars (North Africa, Italy and France), a distinction held by only 23 officers. He graduated from Royal Military College in Kingston, served with the Royal Horse Artillery in North Africa and retired as the Commanding Officer for the Carleton and York Regiment (now the 1st Battalion Royal New Brunswick Regiment). Buchanan, William Kent (Buck) Major (Retired) - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Buck Buchanan on 13 September 07 at the age of 92 in Ottawa, ON. He served with the Royal Canadian Artillery during World War II with 1st Medium Regiment in Italy and the 664th Air Observation Post Squadron Royal Canadian Artillery in NW Europe. After World War II he was posted to Royal Canadian Artillery School in Shilo.
Busch, Lloyd Major (Retired) - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment announces the passing of Major (Retired) Lloyd Busch on 20 December 2004 at the age of 87. He served during the Second World War and with 11 Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery.
Button, Rhonda Captain - With deep regret, 1 Air Defence Regiment mourns the passing of Captain Rhonda Button. She passed away at Ottawa General Hospital on 12 August 2005 after a short illness. She is survived by her husband, Captain Tim Button of 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group.
Caines, Tom Warrant Officer - It is with great regret that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the death of Warrant Officer Tom Caines of 26th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery Brandon, Manitoba. He died 17 May 03.
Cape, John Meredith Brigadier General (Retired) - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment announces that Brigadier General (Retired) John Meredith Cape passed away January 18, 2005 at his home in Victoria. He was 95 years of age. During World War II he served with the Guns in Italy and Sicily.
Champion-Demers, Frank Major (Retired) - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Major (Retired) Frank Champion-Demers on 23 April 2006. He was the first Adjutant for 5e Régiment d’artillerie légère du Canada during its formation
Charles Jack Alexander - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment announces that Jack Charles passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2004 in Winnipeg, MB. He was a 29-year Royal Canadian Horse Artillery veteran, who served in World War II and Korea.
Chilton, William 'Bill' Captain - We regret to inform the passing of one of our Associates of the 15th Field Artillery Regiment Officers' Mess, Captain William 'Bill' Chilton on Monday, at the age of 90. Captain Chilton had a varied, distinguished, and long career in the Permanent Forces, the Non-Permanent Forces, and the Canadian Armed Forces spanning 52 years. A marvellous soldier, some highlights of Bill's service include: joining the militia prior to World War II as a Gunner; serving with the 11th Army Field Regiment in Italy, North-West Europe, and in North Africa; and serving as Regimental Sergeant-Major (Chief Warrant Officer) in multiple Royal Canadian Horse Artillery units and also as the Base Regimental Sergeant-Major of Canadian Forces Base Winnipeg. Upon retiring from the Regular Force, he transferred to the Cadet Instructor List, accepting the Queen's Commission thus becoming a Captain. I have also been told that Bill served as the Chief Instructor at the Vernon Army Cadet Camp. Bill is survived by his wife Anne.
Chimko, John Warrant Officer II (Retired) - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of John Chimko on 11 January 2007. He served with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery for 25 years.
Chouinard, Joseph Ralph - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Joseph Chouinard on 26 December 2006 at the age of 87. He served with The Royal Canadian Artillery during World War II with 4 Medium Regiment.

Cole, John Ronald "Ron" - The death of John Ronald "Ron" Cole occurred on August 2, 2005 at York Manor Nursing Home, Fredericton, NB. Born on May 25, 1934 in Halifax, NS. He as a son of the late William and Sadie (Bergwin) Cole. Ronald retired from the Canadian Armed Forces, Artillery Branch. He was a member of the Fredericton Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 4, Fredericton, NB. In addition to his wife, Margaret (Prescott) Cole, he is survived by two daughters, Barbara Noseworthy (Reg) of Oakville, ON and Sandra Young (Bill) of Oromocto, NB; three grandchildren, Krista Wilson, Randy Young and Rick Young; one brother, Bob Cole (Rita) of Sackville, NS; three sisters, Marjorie Marshall (Ron) of Bridgetown, NS, Gloria Sullivan (John) of Armdale, NS and Joan Purcell (Cyril) of Portuguese Cove, NS; and several nieces and nephews. Ellis, Wilmot (Bill) F. - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Bill Ellis on 16 Jan 2006 at the age of 84 in Moncton, NB. He served with The Royal Canadian Artillery during World War II.
Erskine, Jim Honorary Colonel - Honorary Colonel Erskine passed away on Sunday, 22 May 2005. He originally joined the militia in 1936, but subsequently served five and a half years in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II (three and a half years overseas). In 1945, he joined the Ontario Provincial Police as a probationary constable, and rose through the ranks to become Commissioner (equivalent to Chief of Defence Staff) from 1981 until his retirement in 1983. He was appointed Honorary Lieutenant Colonel of 11 Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery in 1990, and then was the Honorary Colonel from 1996 to 2001.

Gayton, DE Lieutenant-Colonel (Retired) EM CD - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment announces that Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Gayton passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at the age of 83 in Vancouver, BC. He was a member of 15th (Vancouver) Coast Brigade in 1939 and served overseas with various Artillery Formations. After the war, he served in numerous positions, including Fort Sill, OK with the Honest John, and with the International Commissions on Supervision and control in Vietnam. He retired in 1972.

Good, Thomas - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment announces the passing Thomas Good on August 12 2004 at the age of 92. He served during the Second World War with 2nd Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery.
Grange, Samuel - Samuel Grange died in Sunnybrook hospital, Toronto on 26 August, 2005 after suffering a number of strokes. During the Second World War he served in 4th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery. Throughout the Normandy campaign in 1944 he was a Forward Observation Officer, primarily in direct support of the Essex Scottish. His 38 days as a FOO was recognized with the award of the Croix de Guerre. He became interested in legal matters when he was chosen to defend soldiers in courts martial and, following the war, entered the law. In time became a judge and member of the Ontario Court of Appeal. He is probably best known as the head of the 1980s Royal Commission into the deaths of small babies at the Toronto Sick Children's Hospital. Guilderson, Carl - It is with great regret that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the death of Carl Guilderson. An infantry veteran of D-Day he later served the guns until 1974. He passed away 17 June 2003.

He served overseas with 23 Self Propelled Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery of the 4th Armoured Division and was wounded in action a week before the end of hostilities. He continued to serve and in 1955-1956 was in Vietnam with the UN Truce Commission. He retired from the Canadian Forces in 1976.

Lace, Frank D., DSO, OBE, ED Brigadier (Retired). - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment announces that Brigadier (Retired) Frank D. Lace, DSO, OBE, ED. passed away. Brigadier Lace had a distinguished military career culminating in his promotion to Brigadier and appointment as CRA (Commander Royal Artillery) of the 2nd Canadian Division in November 1944. He had held progressively more responsible positions within the Royal Canadian Artillery up to and including CO of the 15th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery until May 1943. He then assumed the position of General Staff Officer 1 to the Brigadier of the Royal Artillery of 1st Canadian Army. Brigadier Lace held this position through Normandy and was made CO of the 13th Field Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery in September 1944 before being promoted to Brigadier in November 1944. Brigadier Lace also served as the President of the Royal Canadian Artillery Association in 1955 and was a tireless supporter of the Toronto area gunners, in particular the local Reserve Unit, the 7th Toronto Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery, Brigadier Lace was one of the first to become a Founding Member of the Toronto Artillery Foundation upon its inception in 1978 and continued to show his benevolence over the years.

Langmuir, Allan Lieutenant Colonel – It is with deepest regret the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Allan Langmuir on 30 December 2008. After serving in the Canadian Army in World War II, Lieutenant Colonel Langmuir continued as an officer in the militia. Following a long and happy association with the 15th Field Regiment, he completed his active service as Commanding Officer of the 12th Service Battalion and was subsequently appointed Honourary Colonel.

Liston, Joseph M Major (Retired), CD - It is with deepest regret The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the death of Major Joseph M. Liston, CD on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Parkwood Veterans Hospital at the age of 88. Joe served in World War II as a pilot in Air Observation Post Squadron 665 and in Korea where he was shot down was a prisoner of war for thirteen months. Captain Liston was the highest ranking Canadian officer captured during the Korean conflict. He did a tour of duty with UN Forces in India and Pakistan in 1962/63 as a truce observer and later commanded the Air Observation Post (OP) flight in Shilo.

MacDonald, Frank J C.D. - Sept 22, 1924 – July 9, 2005 Frank left us suddenly at the age of 80. Predeceased by his parents Joe and Isabella, brother Donald, and his only son Brian. Survived by his dear and loving wife Hana, whom he dearly loved, and Hemer his 4-legged newspaper-fetching friend. Also survived by his two daughters Cheryl of Nanaimo, Heather (Hans) of Ottawa, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, also siblings George, Mark and Isabel of Boston and their families. Frank was born in Glencoe N.S where, at the tender age of 17, he enlisted in the North Nova Scotia Highlanders 3rd Division. A veteran of World War II he proudly served in the Normandy Invasion and the Liberation of Holland. Frank re-enlisted in the regular forces Artillery in 1948. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in Canada and nine years in Europe with NATO Forces. After 32 years he retired in CFB Gagetown, N.B., moving to Kimberley, where he lived until his passing. Golfer, fisherman, poker player, Frank enjoyed going to his office “The Sully” for a few beers, Keno and a chuckle or two. Frank could spin a yarn like no other with an amazing memory for details and names. He kept us laughing with his jokes, crooked grin and opinionated ways. During Frank’s journey through life he made friends in many countries who remained close until the end. Frank was soft-hearted and larger than life. He will be sadly missed. CHEERS

McCormack, Jack (John) Chief Warrant Officer (Retired) - It is with deepest regret The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Chief Warrant Officer Jack (John) McCormack, CD on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, peacefully at the Carleton Place Hospital. He was a former Regimental Sergeant Major of 30th Field Artillery Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery and held that appointment from 1979-82. He was also appointed as the Ottawa Militia District (now known as 33 Canadian Brigade Group) Sergeant Major in 1982 and held that appointment until his retirement in 1988.
McCormick, Clare Benedict Warrant Officer – It is with deepest regret the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Warrant officer (Retired) Clare Benedict McCormick on 10 December 2008. He joined the service during the Second World War as a boy soldier at age 14. After the war, he re-enlisted on December 13, 1948 in the Artillery and was stationed in Shilo, Manitoba, Gagetown, N.B. and Germany. He retired in April 1971 with the rank of Warrant Officer.

Martin, Cyril - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment announces that Cyril Martin passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2003 at the age of 103. He was one of the last 10 surviving First World War veterans. He fought in France and Belgian during that war, and when World War II broke out, he joined up again, this time as a chaplain. He served with 17th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery in Italy, including Ortona and Cassino.
Mayhew, Aaron Gunner - It is with deep sadness that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery conveys to you that Gunner Aaron Mayhew passed away on 13 Jun 04 in St John New Brunswick as a result of a Scuba diving accident. He was 32 years old. Gunner Mayhew joined the Canadian Forces on 1 May 02 and completed his MOC 022 Development Period 1 Training on 14 May 03. He was employed in Air Defence Troop of W Battery since that time. Gunner Mayhew was originally from Oshawa Ontario, and he is survived by his wife Heather and son Sebastian, soon to be two years old.
Mercier, Daniel (Dan) Master Warrant Officer – It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Master Warrant Officer Daniel (Dan) Mercier on Friday, 23 November, 2007 of cancer at l’hotel Dieu Quebec. He served with 5e Régiment d’artillerie légère du Canada and was currently a member of 6e Régiment d'artillerie de campagne, Artillerie royale canadienne.
Merredew, C. Russell The Honorable Justice (Retired) – It is with deepest regret The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of The Honourable Justice, Major Russell C. Merredrew on Sunday, 3 February 2008. He served with 4th Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery and was Commanding Officer of The Lanark and Renfrew Scottish/59th Light Anti-Aircraft/1 Air Defence Regiment & 42 Field Artillery Regiment (L&R Scott) Royal Canadian Artillery. A donation in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Pembroke Regional Hospital, Zion Lutheran Church or the R.C.A. Heritage Fund would be appreciated.
Metivier, Paul - It is with deepest regret that The Royal Regiment announces the passing of Paul Metivier on 22 December 2004 at the age of 105. He served during the First World War and was active in representing and commemorating veterans. He went to France in 1998 to commemorate the 80th anniversary and again in 2000 to accompany Canada's unknown soldiers return to Canada. He is believed to be the last Canadian Gunner of World War One
Miller, Dr. J. E. Harris, CM, KStJ, CD, MDCM, QHP – It is with deepest regret the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Honorary Colonel J.E. Harris Miller on 14 January 2009. He was called to active service with the 52nd Battery on McNabs Island. He was appointed to organize the 103rd Coast artillery and take the unit to Cape Spear, the 27th LAA Battery to Tor Bay and the 56th HAA battery to Gander. Transferred overseas, he served through the Battle of the Rhineland finishing the war with the 5th Battery.

Oliver, Ron Oliver Chief Warrant Officer - In the early morning of 31 May 2005, Ronald Leo Jack Oliver Chief Warrant Officer retired, had finally lost his battle with cancer. He passed away at Brandon General Hospital, surrounded with family and friends. Joining at 16, he signed up in Toronto on 6 Oct 1960. He made the military and Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery his life, serving here and abroad. He enjoyed postings to Shilo, Petawawa, Gagetown, three tours to Germany, peace keeping in Cyprus and a tour to Vietnam from October 1968 - October 1969. He retired from the regular force in 1993 under the FRP spending time in the reserves with 30 Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery were he served as Regimental Sergeant Major and the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. He was well received and admired by anyone who knew him and was always the big burly father figure in the background giving support to any who needed it. He is survived by his loving daughter Cindy, Granddaughter Anastasia Ataman, and son-in-law Brian Ataman.

Ouellette, Raymond - 55, Parkland Drive, Halifax, born January 22, 1950 in Saint Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., died suddenly on July 15, 2005, in Priest Pond, P.E.I. Raymond was a son of Jeannine Hamel Ouellette and the late Paul-Emile Ouellette, Saint Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. Raised in Montreal, Raymond joined the Canadian military at a young age, retiring after 33 years as an officer with the Royal Canadian Artillery. Raymond was proud of his accomplishments in his career, which took him on several postings outside of Canada. Tours in Germany, Cypress, Egypt, Western Sahara and Bosnia, won him the NATO Special Service Medal, the Canadian Peacekeeping Medal, the UN Force in Cyprus Medal, the UN Mission for the Referendum in the Western Sahara Medal for two tours, the NATO Medal for the Former Yugoslavia, the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal and the Canadian Forces Decoration II Medal. Raymond was a member of the Calais Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. Just as many hours were spent finding that perfect worm as finding a fish, any fish. Few were caught and even fewer eaten. Sitting on the bank overlooking Priest Pond Beach was a favourite time and the Gulf of St. Lawrence was affectionately known as the "big screen TV". Riding his Harley was playtime for Raymond and the annual "brothers' road trip" was being planned at the time of his death. Besides his mother, Raymond is survived by his wife, Dorothy Keays; son, Christopher, Brighton, England; sisters, Helene Ouellette, Montreal, Que.; Danielle (Jim) Brown, Vancouver, B.C.; brothers, Laurent and Francis (Sylvie), Montreal, Que.; nieces and nephews. His beloved Wheaten Terrier, Coadie, was with him when he died. Salut bonhomme!

He passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2008 following a decline in his health during the previous days. His health had been deteriorating since cardio vascular complications in Autumn 2007.

Saulnier, Hector J.J. Sr., MMM, CD - Weymouth, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on September 9, 2005, following a 10 month battle with pancreatic cancer, and after having celebrated his 75th birthday on August 17 and his 50th wedding anniversary on September 3. Born in Lower Concession, he was a son of the late Alcide and Jean (Theriault) Saulnier, and a stepson of the late Harold Amirault. After 29 years of service in the Canadian Artillery, he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer in 1983, having served in Germany, Cyprus and Canada. Following his retirement he was an active member of his church and community, a life member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 67 and their Chaplain, Past Grand Knight of Sigogne Council and Past Faithful Navigator of the 4th Assembly. He was State Pro-Life Chair for Nova Scotia Knights of Columbus for two years, volunteering his time and talents for his family, church and community. In 1997, he helped organize and chaperone 34 youth from the diocese of Yarmouth to the World Youth Day activities in Paris, France. He worked with and encouraged the youth that participated in the World Youth Day activities in Cologne, Germany, in August of this year and appreciated their visit on their return. He is survived by his wife, Lucille, Weymouth; sons, Hector Jr. (Annette), Lower Sackville; Michael (Gina), Ajax, Ont.; grandchildren, Jenna, Sarah, Danielle, Julia. He was predeceased by his brother, Victor.
Savage, Harry (Doc) Alexander - It is with deepest regret The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery announces the passing of Harry Savage on 23 March 2003 at the age of 61. He served with the Royal Canadian Artillery during World War II.
Schott, Dale Garnett Lieutenant Colonel OMM, CD - Died suddenly on Thursday, 19 May, 2005 at the Ottawa General Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario at the age of 65 with his family at his side. Dale is survived by his wife Marilyn, sons Steven, Darcy and step-son Peter Thomson. Much loved grandfather of Leanne, Megan and Ella. Son of Doreen and Jack Schott and brother of Yvette Juhasz , Sally Plant, Pat Redmond, and Bob Schott. Dale joined the Royal Canadian Artillery as a Soldier Apprentice in Shilo, Manitoba in 1955. He was commissioned and served in many Regiments and appointments as a junior officer and saw service in Shilo, Petawawa, Gagetown, Edmonton and Germany. As a senior officer he served as a peacekeeper with the United Nations Cyprus, and Kashmir. He also represented Canada in other capacities in many countries such as: Norway, Australia, and the United States Dale completed his military service in Ottawa. He was awarded the Order of Military Merit for outstanding service on the 15th of June 1981. Upon retirement he served in a senior capacity at the Headquarters of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. A memorial service was held on 24 May 2005 in Orleans Ontario and was attended by Dale’s family and many close friends.
Sears , Ralph Theodore - Ralph T. Sears of Harvey Station passed away August 23, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born at St. Stephen in 1931, he was a son of the late Robert and Grace (Cunningham) Sears. Ralph was retired from a distinguished 25-year career in the Canadian Armed Forces with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis M. Townsend, Bernard Leslie - The death of Bernard Leslie Townsend of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, September 19th, 2005. Born in Haliburton, ON he was the son of the late William and Molly (McGuire) Townsend. Bernard was a Veteran of WW11, serving 1939 to 1945 with Royal Canadian Artillery, serving in Europe. Bernard was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4. Survived by three nephews Charles (Judith) Allport, William (Albertine) Allport and Richard (Lynn) Allport: four nieces Patricia MacFawn, Violet (William) MacFawn, Helen (Phil) LeFebvre and Deborah (Rejean) Arsenault Predeceased by his parents and his sister Gwendolyn Allport.
Trudeau, Jules (Joe) Private - Jules passed away December 3 2004.He joined the 7th Toronto Regiment in 1940.Sent for training in Petawawa. He served Christmas dinner for the boys somewhere close to Ortona Italy in 1943 and around June 1944 was injured by shrapnel from a German ambush further up the boot of Italy. I (his grandson) am very honoured to be chosen the person to whom his war medals were given. I will always miss him.
