War Trophy
Taber, Alberta

TaberIn 1920 the members of the Taber Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion decided to erect a monument to honour the 25 men who did not return from the war. The Monument is entirely the work of the veterans except the statue. A local veteran Thomas Love posed for the picture, the photographs were then sent to Italy, where Master Sculptors completed what is said to be one of the most perfect replica of a Canadian Soldier. The Memorial was unveiled on July 11, 1928.
