Fort Rodd Hill Fort Rodd Hill is a national historic site that consists of a coastal artillery fort built in the late 1890s to defend Victoria and the Esquimalt Naval Base. The Fort includes three gun batteries, underground magazines, command posts, guardhouses, barracks and searchlight emplacements. There are numerous interpretive signs and audio-visual stations, as well as period furnished rooms.

Fort Rodd HillFort Rodd Hill sites are open daily year round except Christmas Day. An entry fee is charged and educational and commercial groups are asked to book in advance. Guided tours for groups are available at an additional cost, subject to staff availability.

Fort Rodd HillAnnual special events include an Historic Military Encampment in May, Canada Day Celebrations July 1 and an Old English Car Show in September.
