Fort William is an historic recreation of the North West Company's inland Headquarters. Talented staff present life as it was lived before the confederation of Canada. The fort has an impressive collection of cannons that includes:
Two x bronze field guns;
Four x replica cannons;
Five x replica cannons in the Powder Magazine; and
Three x swivel guns.
The bronze cannons are of unknown origin at this time. The one gun is stamped with the wording "R&P VERBRUGGEN" on the breech.

Fort William predates the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery and subsequently the Regiment never occupied this establishment. Similiarly, the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery did not use any of the ordnance that is displayed at Fort William.
Please note: The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery is seeking additional enhancements to this article. If you have higher quality photographs or additional historic facts, please do not hesitate to contact us through the Heritage board on our discussion forum.
