Lieutenant Colonel André Richard, CD

LCol RichardAndré Richard was born in Levis (Quebec) in 1952. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in College militaire royal (CMR) in Saint-Jean in 1974.

Lieutenant Colonel Richard has served in the following Artillery units :

    6e Régiment d’artillerie de campagne (6 RAC) Levis,Québec

    5e Régiment d’artillerie légère du Canada (5 RALC), Québec

    1st Airborne Battery (1 AB BTY), in Edmonton, Alberta

    2nd Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery (2 RCHA) in Petawawa, Ontario

    62e Régiment d’artillerie de campagne (62 RAC) Shawinigan, Québec

Lieutenant Colonel Richard has commanded the following units:

    V Bty and Headquarter Bty, 5e Régiment d’artillerie légère du Canada, Valcartier, Québec

    5e Régiment d’artillerie légère du Canada, Valcartier, Québec

    62e Régiment d’artillerie de campagne, Shawinigan, Québec

He has served in Staff positions in:

    Canadian Forces Officer Candidate School (CFOCS) in Chilliwack BC as leadership instructor

    5e Brigade in Valcartier, Québec

    HQ 1 CDN Division in Kingston, Ontario

    FMC (Army) HQ in St-Hubert, Québec

    Director of Cadets and Vice-Commandant in College militaire royal St-Jean, Québec until closure in 1995

Lieutenant Colonel Richard privatized and directed the Munitions Test centre (PETE Nicolet) with SNC TEC from 1997. He was the Manager Business development for Canadian Programs with SNC TEC and GDOTS-Canada 2003-2007. Currently he is employed as a consultant in Defence, Security and Environment. He is President of the Royal Canadian Artillery Association (RCAA), Vice-president the Military College ex-cadet association, Quebec branch and Director at Quebec Military Institute.

Lieutenant Colonel Richard is married to France Alain and they have two children, Dominique and Marie-Hélène.
