~ Think you were working hard on your last live FTX or on your last tour? Think again. War diary entry for the 1st Canadian Siege Battery, 31 August 1917, “We fired 5,169 rounds this month, and for 23 days we only had 2 guns”. They were firing 9.2 inch Howitzers in support of operations against Hill 70 and Lens. (Gunners of Canada, Vol 1)
~ The Guns of Kingston, by David Francis and Barry Porteous (1991). In and around the historic City of Kingston Ontario there are many Artillery pieces on display; here is a booklet containing details on them.
~ That The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery has the Older “brother” of the CFL’s “Grey Cup” on display in The RCA Museum at the Home Station in Shilo, MB. Here is a great video recorded by TSN for the 2012 Grey Cup pre-game show.

~ Radio interview with Melanie Murray the aunt of Jeff Francis, who was killed along with five other soldiers by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan, she set out to tell the story of how his death affected his family.
